3D-Printed Human Muzzle

The Nob Human Muzzle model by DZMH is quite cool and comfortable to wear. The base frame can be printed in various sizes to find the right scale. For me, 95% worked quite well.

Once the muzzle is printed, straps can be attached quite easily. I was very happy that a friend printed it for me and even did the sewing. Using black filament, the look is already quite nice:

What now?

There are a few more ideas that I think are worth exploring:

  1. Modding (of course). Various attachments could enhance the muzzle’s aesthetic (e.g., a cyberpunk style). There’s a lot that can be done in this regard.
  2. It would be interesting to see if paint can be applied in a way that makes it look like metal. That would be quite cool without having to carry an additional heavy piece of gear. I suppose paints used for miniatures might work well.
  3. There are services offering selective laser melting (SLM), which would allow the manufacture of custom full-metal muzzles. Pricing seems to be around €90 for this muzzle, which is a bit too expensive right now, but I might try this at a later point.
